Five Spot Soul Food Restaurant

They tend to cater more to Caucasians because most ( my opinion) don’t really know GOOD soul food, sooo it’s good to them. Black ppl know the difference not a lot of patronage by blacks. Unless it’s recently changed, that’s my take..

Would NOT recommend. Ordered Fried chicken with “southern” biscuits and deviled eggs. Food was BLAND. Looked delicious but tasted like air. And my not so southern biscuits tasted like they came out of the freezer and into the microwave. Additionally, waitress over charged me. When brought to her attention she wouldn’t change it. The fried chicken was listed on the menu as $7.95 and I was charged $12.95 because “the menu was not correct”.

This is a very large old fashioned restaurant. It could use a lot of upgrading. They have nice events and the crowd is good. I've went here several times in the past and really enjoyed myself. My last visit was on super bowl sunday, the meal looked great, the chicken was very good however the mac & cheese was very oily and tasted off.

The restuarant need to be clean. Department need to make a visit the restuarant dishes are chip at the edges.Food cold macaroni cheese taste like rubber.The staff have no training.

One of the Best restaurant lounge spaces in BK. The waitresses were kourteous, respecktfull & beautifull. Eye highly rekkomend this space for eating drinkibg & social affairs.

Not bad but not what i was expecting.

The food was ok. The service was good & I enjoyed the atmosphere( DJ was playing). My only problem was the physical environment, specifically the floor. At certain spots it felt like the floor wasn't stable. I felt like it was going to "sink in".

I no longer live in Ny. But this would be a cool bar to hangout when visiting old friends. BUT it was New Year's Eve and it was empty!! The windows were covered because they had dancers in the back. Who knew they were open?!! I left before the New Year came in. I hope it changed because BA'BE!! The drinks was poppin!!! I think it was the Nutcracker. Worth every penny!! I'll try it again next visit!

When I go to five spot i always order Wings and Fries. On the i get thai chilly that my favorite. The food comes out good. They also have nice Tv's to watch any sports games.

Nice and mellow location....was here for the "Open Mic & Spoken word" event.

Just left about 10 minutes ago and I would NOT go there. The food was horrible. I looked around and saw that celebrities had been there at one point but that’s in 2006. I got the soul platter and the chicken was not chicken. The catfish fingers were not catfish and the Mac and cheese had a funny after taste. I spent $22 bucks on old food and horrible ambience. When I walked past I never saw anyone in there but I wanted to support and it was the wrong decision. I wasted money and to top it off black stuff was floating in my glass of water and I feel nauseous. I am trying to post a photo of the food and chicken.

The homemade fried seafood is delicious. The entertainment is always on point.

I really like Five spot ! Great place to visit for music, drinks , and food .

The food was AMAZING, the ambiance was nice and they have an outdoor deck for smokers.

I was there the other night the food wasnt all that great and the owner dude was drunk how you own a bar and your drinking what kind of manager does that he also allowed weed smoking in the back I would not recommend this place they also have a rat problem and the kitchen is dirty.

This place is pretty great. The back area is huge, great enough to host events here. Fun place. I highly recommend 👍🏼👍🏼

From what I understand this place is really good during the weekend or events but I’ve stopped by for a lunch date with my wife and found myself longing. The timing of being checked up on or even tended to while eating was sparse and it was only us there at first. Maybe there just needs to be more staff during the day or we came on an off day.

It was ghetto. I went on a Friday night comedy night and some locals, older beer drunken men heckled every comedian that went on stage. I was so disappointed. My boyfriend said he enjoyed his food tho.

The food was great and the music always on point. One of my favorite local venues to chill or catch a live performance.

I just really can’t believe how artificial the yellow pudding from the banana pudding was. That was the first red flag when I took the pudding and the “peach cobbler” out of the bag. Both were freezing cold. I have never had cold peach cobbler. There was also something green inside my bowl!! They threw three cookies on top of an peace apple sauce and called this peach cobbler. Nothing was homemade. The banana pudding was disgusting and inedible. Save yourself! To Freedom!!

It was nice to find a soul food restaurant that sold $10 meals. I had ribs, greens and mac & cheese. The mac & cheese looked good, but was doughy. Everything else was good. It's open late and there is an adjacent club with a bar and live entertainment...I need to check that out too. Overall, a welcomed unexpected spot. I'll visit again!

The place was small and not as organized as I thought my peoples 1pairofdice was supposed to perform and some how that did not happen so thumbs down! When they make it right I will show love. All for the love of 1pairofdice!

I would give this place a 0 if it was an option. The food was probably one of the worst I’ve had in yrs. It was not easy for me to give such a poor review - especially since, I rarely give them, but this place was that bad.My brother and I ordered burgers (their “famous” one), truffle mac and cheese, fries, and hood fried wings. The burgers taste like cardboard and what I imagine feet to taste like. The fries were soggy, and tasted like something I’ve never eaten before. The hood fried wings were tasteless and also soggy. They could have easily been taken from the freezer and microwaved, but then - I’ve had previously frozen wings that were amazing in comparison. I will NEVER order from this place again and hope I don’t get sick from the few bites I had. Consumers beware.
